A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE
ACCEPTANCE OF SECTION 8 HOUSING PROGRAM FUNDS, IN THE
PROJECTED AMOUNT OF $3,600,000 FOR RENTAL ASSISTANCE, AND IN THE
PROJECTED AMOUNT OF $466,000 FOR PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION, FOR A
TOTAL PROJECTED AMOUNT OF $4,066,000, FROM FISCAL YEAR 2013-2014
ANNUAL CONTRIBUTIONS FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF
HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE
CITY ATTORNEY, FOR SAID PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") has 416 units under Section 8 contracts; and
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD") has
advised the City that the projected allocation for the Section 8 Housing Program for Fiscal Year 2013-
2014 is available in the amount of $3,600,000 for rental assistance payments and $466,000 for
program administration, for a total projected amount of $4,066,000;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The acceptance of Section 8 Housing Program funds, in the projected amount of
$3,600,000 for rental assistance, and in the projected amount of $466,000 for program
administration, for a total projected amount of $4,066,000, for Fiscal Year 2013-2014, is authorized.
Section 3. These allocations will be adjusted in direct proportion to the actual allocation of Section
8 funds provided by HUD for Program Year 2013-2014.
Section 4. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute the necessary documents, in a form
acceptable to the City Attorney, for said purpose.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}

{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter
and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
