Miami's mix of cultures, warm climate, beaches, architecture and urban redevelopment designs, form a
chaotic and eclectic backdrop for a city that plays such a strong international role, making living and
working in South Florida a unique experience. I want to ensure that the city's colors are leveraged to
create places for cultural exchange and economic development, that preserve the diversity that make
Miami the unique microcosm it is today, while inviting others to move here and contribute to a new era
of growth. I also want to make sure that our political, business, and non-profit leadership understand

4. What is your understanding of the role of the Community Relations Board in the City of Miami?
The [R8exists tohelp embrace, encouraQe and ensure harmonious dialogue, interaction, and
cooperation amongst Miami's residents. The CRB serves as a link between residents and the City's
representatives and administration, fielding concerns about issues of discrimination, unfair treatment,
or tension amongst different resident groups. The Board also acts as a leader in generating ideas and
solutions that can be implemented by the Board, by residents themselves, or by the City to help improve
the conditions ofinter-group dialogue and relations.
5' Do you feel that positive inter -group relations can be achieved in the City of M iami?
I wholeheartedly believe that positive dialogue, relations, and cooperation can be achieved amongst
Miami's different residents groups. | know how much all ofMiami's residents love their city, and thus |
know we can all rally around the goal of creating a better Miami. The tricks lie in figuring out how the
