HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationFile Number: 12-01089 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE TO THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENTS ("AGREEMENTS") WITH (1) ADA ENGINEERING, INC., (2) A&P CONSULTING TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERS, (3) THE CORRADINO GROUP, INC., (4) METRIC ENGINEERING, INC., AND (5) TY LIN INTERNATIONAL/HJ ROSS, FOR THE PROVISION OF MISCELLANEOUS CIVIL ENGINEERING SERVICES, IN AN AMOUNT. NOT TO EXCEED $250,000, THER BY INCREASING THE TOTAL CONTRACT AMOUNT WITH EACH FIRM FROM $50,000, TO AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $750,000; ALLOCATING FUNDS FOR SAID INCREASE, FROM THE APPROPRIATE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS, ON AN AS -NEEDED BASIS; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE AGREEMENTS WITH EACH FIRM, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, FOR SAID PURPOSES. WHEREAS, pursuant to Request for Qualifications No. 09-10-012, the City of Miami ("City") executed Professional Services Agreements ("Agreements") with ADA Engineering, Inc.("ADA"), A&P Consulting Transportation Engineers ("A&P"), The Corradino Group, Inc. ("Corradino"), Metric Engineering, Inc. ("Metric"), and TY Lin International/HJ Ross ('TY Lin"), for the provision of Miscellaneous Civil Engineering Services, in an amount not to exceed $500,000, per firm; and WHEREAS, the original expenditure limits per firm has diminished by varied but significant amounts based on the volume of work assigned to each firm and the complexity of the projects assigned; and WHEREAS, the current remaining contract balances are not sufficient to cover the design costs anticipated for newly approved projects, with a total estimated cost of $9,000,000; and WHEREAS, it is now necessary to enter into Amendment No. 1 with each firm, thereby increasing the Agreements in an amount not to exceed $250,000, from $500,000 to a final amount not to exceed $750,000; and WHEREAS, funds are to be allocated from the appropriate Capital Improvement Projects, on an as -needed basis; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1.. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section. An increase to the Agreements with (1) ADA, (2) A&P, (3) Corradino, (4) Metric and (5) TY Lin, for the provision of Miscellaneous Civil Engineering Services, in the amount not to exceed $250,000, thereby increasing the contract amount from $500,000, to a final amount not to exceed $750,000, is authorized, with funds for said increase allocated from the appropriate Capital Improvement Projects, on an as -needed basis. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1 } to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Agreements, in substantially the attached form, with each firm, for said purposes. Section 4. CITY ATTORNEY Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
