(MPD) Subject: Presidential Inaugural Memorandum of Understanding Inaugural Partners, Thank you again for your participation in the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Task Force (PITF). Attached you will find the 2013 PITF Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The MOU is in a READ ONLY format for review by the applicable member(s) of your agency or government (i.e. mayor, city council, legal staff, chief of police, sheriff, etc.). NOTE: The MOU is the same MOU that was used for the 2009 PITF. The only change is the effective dates of January 16, 2013, to January 22, 2013. This time frame is utilized to cover "worst case scenario" unforeseen events (critical intelligence updates, emergency circumstances) that may require: 1. Local agencies to be activated ahead of the January 20th Briefing and Deputation or past the January 215' event day 2. Out of town agencies to be held past the January 21 st event day Instructions for review and approval of the MOU are listed below: 1. The 2013 PITF MOU is LAW ENFORCEMENT SENSITIVE. The MOU should not be published, released to the public, reproduced or distributed outside of those persons necessary for approval without prior consultation with the MPD Presidential inaugural Planning Committee. 2. NO CHANGES WILL BE MADE TO THE MOU. a. The document will stand as written. b. Any questions or clarifications can be directed to Sergeant Julanne Herndon (julanne.herndon(a�dc.gov) of the MPD PIPC 3 Once your agency agrees to the MOU, please email Sergeant Julanne Herndon (iulanne.herndon(a�dc.gov) with the following information: a. Name and title of signatory or signatories required by your jurisdiction as follows (OUTSIDE AGENCY SIGNATOR) (OUTSIDE AGENCY SIGNATOR TITLE) (OUTSIDE AGENCY NAME) (OUTSIDE AGENCY CITY, STATE) b. Complete mailing address including the name of addressee for receipt of the MOU via FEDEX 4. The MOU will then be FEDEXED in the following format: a. Agency Specific MOU (your agency name inserted in place of (OUTSIDE AGENCY NAME)) b. Three (3) Copies of the MOU with the original signatures of: i. Cathy L. Lanier, Chief of Police. Metropolitan Police Department and ii. Ronald C. Machen, Jr, United States Attorney, District of Columbia 3 . Two (2) of the copies will be signed by your agency's signatory or signatories a. These two (2) copies will be FEDEXED back to the MPD PIPC for retention by the Metropolitan Police Department and the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia. b. A pre -paid addressed return FEDEX bill of lading will be provided with the FEDEXED MOU. Later today or tomorrow, you will receive an email containing the Outside Agency Administrative Handbook with Forms, detailing the information needed to complete the administrative portion of this detail.
