Director Chi City Manager Page 1 of 1 AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY FORM CONTINUED Background Information: Pursuant to Resolution No. 09-0278, adopted on June 11, 2009, the Miami City Commission approved a repayment plan to HUD which included an amount of $1,244,509.08 in CDBG funds. HUD has now credit the City's CDBG line of credit with the $1,244,509.08 paid to HUD. The Department of Community Development has established a Code Compliance Program in the City to assist in revitalizing low and moderate income neighborhoods of the City. The Single Family Rehabilitation Program provides eligible low and moderate income homeowners with up to $35,000 to repair and bring their properties to code. The Single Family Replacement Home Program provides assistance to eligible low and moderate income homeowners to demolish their dilapidated home and rebuild a three bedroom, two bath home with approximately 1,300 square foot on the existing lot. The Single Family Rehabilitation and Replacement Home programs currently have 60 and 4 homeowners on the waiting list. The Administration is requesting the allocation of CDBG Repayment funds in the amount of $1,244,509.08, to the Single Family Rehabilitation and Replacement Home Programs and Housing Activities, as specified in Exhibit "A", attached and incorporated;
