Thompson City Clerk DATE : August 16, 2012 SUBJECT FILL Results: Overtown Advisory Board/ Overtown Community Oversight Board Election REFERENCES: ENCLOSURES: (1) PAT:dsd The Overtown Advisory Board/Overtown Community Oversight Board (OAB/OCOB) was created to encourage and support historic preservation and provide recommendations to the City Commission regarding all City funded or assisted activities, developments, or improvements within the Overtown area. An election was scheduled for August 21, 2012 for five (5) available elected seats on the OAB/OCOB. Five (5) individuals qualified as candidates for available seats. Therefore, per City of Miami Code section 16-8, the election required and the five (5) nominees listed below should thus be declared elected. • Betty Clayton • Derek Cole • Ultrina Harris • Fred Mims • Andrea Rogers member the five was not Pursuant to Miami Code Section 2-105, the City Commission at large must ratify the elected individuals to be appointed as members of the OAB/OCOB. THOMPSON, City Clerk of the City of Miami, Florida, do hereby certify that the necessary steps were taken pursuant to City of Miami Code Section 2-1052 in connection with the conduct of the Overtown Advisory Board/Overtown Community Oversight Board Election (OAB/OCOB) scheduled for August 21, 2012. Said election was to be conducted in order to fill five (5) elected member seats. Of the five (5) people nominated, five (5) people were deemed qualified during the qualifying period. Therefore, per City of Miami Code section 16-8, the election was not required and the five (5) nominees should thus be declared elected. They are: Betty Clayton Derek Cole Ultrina Harris Fred Mims Andrea Rogers Therefore, I certify that these five (5) nominees by virtue of meeting the OAB/OCOB membership qualifications, and by virtue of being unopposed in seeking membership to the five (5) available elected seats, are thus declared elected as members of the Overtown Advisory Board/Overtown Community Oversight Board.
