HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 12-01001 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION WAIVING, PURSUANT TO SECTION 62-619(C) OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, THE ONE TEMPORARY BANNER PER YEAR LIMITATION TO ALLOW PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS AT THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1 HERALD PLAZA, MIAMI, FLORIDA, BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2012 AND ENDING MAY 31, 2013. WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 62-619(b), of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended ("City Code"), temporary banners are limited to one (1) temporary banner per year per location; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 62-619(c) of the City Code, the time limitations for temporary banners may be waived upon an affirmative vote of the City Commission; and WHEREAS, the Miami Herald wishes to erect public service announcements at the property located at One Herald Plaza, Miami, Florida, beginning October 1, 2012 and ending May 31, 2013; and WHEREAS, examples of public service announcements that will be erected at the Miami Herald include but are not limited to announcements related to bicycle and pedestrian safety for a minimum of sixty (60) days; and WHEREAS, the proposed public service announcements, including those related to bicycle and pedestrian safety, would be beneficial to the City of Miami's ("City") residents and provide valuable information to the City's residents, businesses, and visitors; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble of this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. Pursuant to Section 62-619(c), of the City Code, the temporary banner limitation at the property located at One Herald Plaza, Miami, Florida, beginning October 1, 2012 and ending May 31, 2013, is waived. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{1} APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS: JULIE O.
