("CITRUS") FOR ADMINISTRATION OF GRANT RELATED ACTIVITIES; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS FOR SAID PURPOSE. Director City Manager Page 1 of 1 AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY FORM CONTINUED Background Information: Pursuant to Resolution No. 11-0007, adopted January 13, 2011, the City Commission accepted the ESG funds for Program year 2011-2012 in the amount of $362,639 to the City's Homeless Program, Neighborhood Enhancement Team and a percentage towards the City's Department of Community Development for the administration of grant -related activities. Federal regulations authorize up to 7.5% of the entire grant allocation of ESG funds for Program Year 2011-2012 to be utilized for administrative costs to manage grant related activities. This funding is provided specifically for Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re -housing Program ("HPRP") portion of the new ESG program but the City's Homeless Program currently does not have to capacity to manage an HPRP program. Pursuant to Resolution No. 12-0176, adopted April 26, 2012, the Miami City Commission approved the allocation of $172,366 to Citrus. Citrus has successfully managed the City's and Miami -Dade County's HPRP programs for the last two (2) years. The City Administration recommends the allocation of Program Year 2011-2012 ESG administration funds in the amount of $9,000 to Citrus for homeless prevention and rapid re -housing activities.
