Rollason References: Executive Director Enclosures: Supporting Documentation Please be advised that J.E.J. Properties, Inc,, to whom the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency (SEOPW CRA) sold Parking Lot No. 5 located at 936 NW 3rd Avenue for restaurant parking, has recently entered into an agreement with Clear Channel to erect a billboard on the parking lot property. This, we believe, is in violation of the deed restriction which allows that the lot shall be used solely for parking for a period of ten (10) years from the date of the sale — June '03 (copy attached). Ms. Shiriene Ingraham, President of J.E.J. Properties, Inc., was notified, in writing, on October 26, 2004, by CRA Special Counsel of the apparent violation of the deed restriction and instructed to have the billboard removed (copy attached). At this point, the billboard remains and significantly contributes to the blighted conditions of the CRAIOvertown Area. In that it is the mission of the CRA to remove slum and blight, this issue is being brought before the Board for discussion and whether authorization should be granted by the Board for General Counsel to go forward with whatever legal action may be necessary to have the billboard removed.
