A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE OMNI
REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO ENTER INTO A GRANT
AGREEMENT, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO GENERAL COUNSEL, WITH MIART
FOUNDATION, INC. TO UNDERWRITE THE 2004 ART BASEL EVENT, "IMPACT
BASEL" IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $86,350; FUNDS TO BE ALLOCATED
FROM OMNI TAX INCREMENT FUND, "OTHER GRANTS AND AIDS," ACCOUNT
CODE NO. 686001.590320.6.940
WHEREAS, previous Art Basel events underwritten by grants from the Omni Redevelopment
District Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) have brought positive national and international
attention to the Redevelopment Area; and
WHEREAS, the MIART Foundation, Inc. has requested that the CRA provide a grant to underwrite
the presentation of "Impact Basel" a 2004 Art Basel event which showcases the Redevelopment Area
and the new Performing Arts Center of Greater Miami; and
WHEREAS such an event is consistent with the revitalization strategy of creating "the image of a
desirable high quality 'uptown' district with an attractive appearance, a 24-hour activity pattern, and a
perception safety and security" as provided in Section IV, Page 11, of the 1986 Omni Area
Redevelopment Plan, as amended; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE OMNI
REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The Executive Director is authorized to enter into a Grant Agreement, in a form
acceptable to General Counsel, with the MIART Foundation, Inc. to underwrite the 2004 Art Basel
event, "IMPACT Basel" in an amount not to exceed $86,350.
Section 3. Funds for the grant shall be allocated from OMNI Tax Increment Fund, "Other Grants
and Aids," Account Code No. 686001.590320.6.940.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
