A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ESTABLISH A SPECIAL REVENUE
PROJECT ENTITLED: "2012 SUPPORTIVE HOUSING PROGRAM (SHP)," TO
ACCEPT THE AWARD FROM THE MIAMI-DADE COUNTY HOMELESS TRUST IN
AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $251,071, CONSISTING OF A GRANT FROM THE
UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT;
APPROPRIATING MATCHING FUNDS FROM THE CITY OF MIAMI EMERGENCY
SHELTER GRANT, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $59, 779; FURTHER
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE, AFTER CONSULTATION
WITH THE CITY ATTORNEY AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS, ALL
NECESSARY DOCUMENTS TO IMPLEMENT THE ACCEPTANCE OF, AND
COMPLIANCE WITH, SAID GRANT AWARD, AND TO APPROPRIATE THE
REQUIRED MATCHING FUNDS.
WHEREAS, in May, 2012, the Miami Homeless Assistance Program ("Program") was awarded a
grant in the amount of $251,071, for a one-year period to provide outreach, assessment and
placement of homeless individuals and families in the City of Miami ("City"); and
WHEREAS, the program has identified matching funds in the amount of $59,779, as required,
from the City of Miami Emergency Shelter Grant, with $5,977 in administrative funds to be retained by
the City; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the for the City Manager to accept said grant award and to
establish a new special revenue project for the appropriation of said grant award;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1} to accept a total amount not to exceed $251,071,
consisting of a grant from the Miami -Dade County Homeless Trust, and to appropriate $59,779 in
matching funds from the City Emergency Shelter Grant
Section 3. The following new Special Revenue Project is established and resources are
appropriated as described below:

Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute the necessary documents to implement
the acceptance of said grant award and appropriate said matching funds.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}
Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
