HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 12-00720 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION WAIVING, THE TEMPORARY EVENT LIMITATION PER YEAR, FOR PRIVATE PROPERTY, PURSUANT TO SECTION 62-521(B)(4) OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, TO ALLOW THE PROPERTY AT 265 NORTHWEST 22 STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA, TO HOST FOOD TRUCK GATHERINGS ON THE SECOND SATURDAY OF EVERY MONTH BEGINNING AUGUST 1, 201-2 AND - ENDING DECEMBER 31, 2012. WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 62-521, of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended ("City Code"), Temporary Events are limited to no more than two (2) events per year, per private property; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 62-521 of the City Code, the number of events can be waived upon affirmative vote of the City Commission; and WHEREAS, on the second Saturday of every month, there is an Art Walk in the Wynwood area bringing thousands of residents to the local businesses in the area; and WHEREAS, as part of the Wynwood Art Walk, there has been a food truck gathering at 265 Northwest 22 Street, Miami, Florida; and WHEREAS, the food truck gathering at 265 Northwest 22 Street, Miami, Florida, has been permitted in the past, but has reached the maximum number of Temporary Event Permits that are allowed; and WHEREAS, the food truck gathering wishes to continue operating on the second Saturday of every month in conjunction with the Wynwood Art Walk; and WHEREAS, each event must still be permitted by the City of Miami to ensure life -safety and quality of life issues; and WHEREAS, the proposed temporary uses at the above location would be beneficial to the City of Miami's residents and businesses; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble of this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{1} APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS: • JULIE O.
