Background Information:
Pursuant to Resolution No. 12-0060 adopted February 23, 2012, the Miami City Commission
approved the allocation of Program Year 2012-2013 CDBG funds in the amount of $35,000.00 to
Little Haiti Housing Association ("LHHA"), Inc. to undertake Economic Development activities.
LHHA is a 501(c) (3) non-profit community development corporation serving the development needs
of the low-income residents of Little Haiti since its incorporation in 1987, by supporting economic
revitalization activities and decent, affordable housing as a base for an improved quality of life for the
residents of Little Haiti and neighboring communities.
LHHA will provide Technical Assistance to Micro -Enterprises in District 5, including, but not limited to,
assistance with day-to-day business operations and assisting business owners with acquiring funding
from new sources.
The Administration recommends the allocation of additional CDBG funds in the amount of $15,000
from the District 5 Economic Development Reserve Account to LHHA for Technical Assistance to
Micro -Enterprises.
