HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.mlamigov.com File Number: 12-00341 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION URGING GOVERNOR RICK SCOTT AND THE STATE OF FLORIDA TO CONTINUE FUNDING THE CENTRAL SERVICE CENTER LOCATED AT 1490 NORTHWEST 27TH AVENUE, MIAMI, FLORIDA; DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO TRANSMIT A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE OFFICIALS DESIGNATED HEREIN. WHEREAS, upon information and belief, funding from the State of •Florida for the Central Service Center, as part of the Children and Family Services assistance to families will be eliminated; and WHEREAS, the Central Service Center provides essential assistance to the residents of the City of Miami; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED .BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Resolution. Section 2. The Miami City Commission urges Governor Rick Scott and the State of Florida to continue funding the Central Service Center located at 1490 Northwest 27th Avenue, Miami, Florida. Section 3. The City Clerk Is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Governor Rick Scott, Secretary David Wilkins and other appropriate state officials. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{1} APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS&' JULIE 0.)3 CITY ATTORNEY Footnotes: {1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
