Subject: Renewal Options to the Software Maintenance and Support Services Agreement between the
City of Miami and Tiburon, Inc.
Purpose of Item:
Resolution authorizing the City Manager to exercise renewal options under the Software Maintenance
and Support Services Agreement between the City of Miami, and Tiburon, Inc., for the provisions of
Software Maintenance and Services for the Department of Fire -Rescue. This Resolution effective
date shall commence retroactively for years 2009 through 2011 and thereafter for a period of five (5)
years at the rates provided in Attachment "A", with an option to add additional years at a rate
acceptable to the City Manager.

Background Information: (continued)
Pursuant to Resolution No. 04-0490, adopted July 22, 2004, the City of Miami ("City") entered into
an Agreement with Tiburon, Inc., RFP No. 22009530 was issued for the City of Kansas City,
Missouri, for the acquisition of a new Public Safety Records Management System ("RMS"), and
following an evaluation, a contract was awarded to Tiburon, Inc.
Based on ease of use, and scalability the Tiburon RMS program improved the reliability of the system
and provided the City with a technology that enables the revitalized system to have a life expectancy
well into the next decade and will ensure the continued safety of the City's firefighters, police officers
and residents.
Said Agreement included a Software Maintenance and Support Services Agreement for one (1) year
maintenance and support with the option to extend product support and services for four (4) additional
one (1) year periods.
The City wishes to renew to the Software Agreement between the City and Tiburon, Inc., for the
Department of Fire -Rescue.

The first year amount for the service will not exceed $45,610.00, with yearly increases for each of the
subsequent option periods; and
The funds are available for the first -year contract term and will be allocated from the budget of the
Department of Information Technology, Account No. 00001.251000,546000.0000.00000..
The authority to renew the Agreement will apply retroactively from 2009 and continue in effect until
terminated pursuant to the terms of the Agreement.
This Resolution aims for the City Commission to grant authorization for the City Manager to execute
the renewal options and any other documents for said purpose.
