A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION NAMING THE BASEBALL
COMPLEX AT GRAPELAND PARK, LOCATED AT 1550 NORTHWEST 37TH
AVENUE, MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS THE "CARLOS 'PATATO' PASCUAL BASEBALL
COMPLEX" IN HONOR OF CARLOS "PATATO" PASCUAL FOR HIS DEDICATION
AND ACHIEVEMENTS IN THE SPORT OF BASEBALL; DIRECTING THE CITY
MANAGER TO TAKE ALL ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIONS NECESSARY TO
EFFECTUATE THE NAMING OF SAID FACILITY.
WHEREAS, Carlos "Patato" Pascual was an integral part of the sport of baseball and was
responsible for discovering many athletes who have represented Miami in college and professional
baseball; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Pascual greatly contributed to advancing the popularity of baseball and has
served as an inspiration to his community; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami wishes to honor Mr. Pascual by naming the baseball complex at
Grapeland Park, located at 1550 Northwest 37th Avenue, Miami, Florida, in his honor;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble of this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The baseball complex at Grapeland Park, located at 1550 Northwest 37th Avenue,
Miami, Florida, is hereby named the "Carlos 'Patato' Pascual Baseball Complex" in honor of Carlos
"Patato" Pascual for his dedication and achievements in the sport of baseball.
Section 3. The City Manager is directed to take all administrative actions necessary to effectuate
the naming of said facility.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{1}

{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall
become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City.
