Purpose of Item: ACCEPTANCE OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY'S RECAPTURE OF $470,416 FROM THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ("CDBG") DISASTER RELIEF INITIATIVE ("DRI") ROUND II CONTRACT BETWEEN MIAMI-DADE COUNTY AND THE CITY OF MIAMI AWARD OF $2,776,264 PROVIDING FOR AN AWARD AMOUNT OF $2,305,848. FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A SEPARATE CDBG DRI ROUND II CONTRACT BETWEEN MIAMI-DADE COUNTY AND THE CITY OF MIAMI FOR THE FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING ADDITIONAL CDBG FUNDS RECEIVED UNDER THE MILITARY CONSTRUCTION APPROPRIATIONS AND EMERGENCY HURRICANE SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATIONS ACT, A/K/A DISASTER RECOVERY PROGRAM, FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT, IN THE AMOUNT OF $315,309, FOR THE REHABILI'I ATION OF THE TOWN PARK VILLAGE I PROJECT THAT SUFFERED HURRICANE DAMAGE, FOR SAID PURPOSE. Zkyv) Page 1 of 2 AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY FORM CONTINUED Background Information On September 16, 2010, the City of Miami Commission adopted Resolution # 10-0357 accepting $2,776,264 in Community Development Grant ("CDBG") funds for Disaster Recovery in the areas of housing and infrastructure repair or improvement under the Military Construction Appropriations and Emergency Hurricane Supplemental Appropriations Act and authorizing the City Manager to execute the CDBG Disaster Relief Initiative Round II Contract for the acceptance of said funds. Miami -Dade County is recapturing funds in the amount of $470,416 from the CDBG Disaster Relief Initiative Round II Contract between Miami -Dade County and the City of Miami and providing $315,309 in CDBG Disaster Relief funds in a separate Disaster Relief Initiative Round 2 Contract for the purpose of rehabilitating the Town Park Village I Project that suffered hurricane damage.
