HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-12-0148City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-12-0148 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 12-00317 Final Action Date: 4/12/2012 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), ACCEPTING THE RESPONSES RECEIVED, PURSUANT TO REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS ("RFQ") NO. 287259, AND APPROVING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A PRE -QUALIFICATION LIST COMPRISED OF ELEVEN (11) QUALIFIED PROPOSERS, AS LISTED ALPHABETICALLY IN "EXHIBIT A," ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, TO PROVIDE DEMOLITION SERVICES FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF BUILDING AND OTHER CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY")DEPARTMENTS, ON AN AS -NEEDED BASIS, FOR AN INITIAL PERIOD OF TWO (2) YEARS, WITH CONDITIONS AS STATED HEREIN, AND WITH AUTOMATIC ANNUAL EXTENSIONS UNTIL SUCH TIME AS IT IS DEEMED IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CITY TO ISSUE A NEW SOLICITATION; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE VARIOUS SOURCES, SUBJECT TO BUDGETARY APPROVAL AT THE TIME OF NEED; FURTHER AUTHORIZING, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RFQ, THE ABILITY TO ADD QUALIFIED FIRMS OR INDIVIDUALS TO THE CONTRACT WHEN DEEMED IN THE CITY'S BEST INTEREST WITHOUT FURTHER CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZATION. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The responses received, pursuant to RFQ No. 287239, are accepted, and the establishment of a pre -qualification list comprised of eleven (11) qualified proposers, as listed alphabetically in "Exhibit A", attached and incorporated, are approved, to provide demolition services for the Department of Building and other City departments, on an as -needed basis, for an initial period of two (2) years, with automatic annual extensions until such time as it is deemed in the best of interest of the City to issue a new solicitation. Section 2. When a City department elects to have work performed, a Request for Price Quotations will be issued to the pre -qualified contractor(s) who shall be invited to offer a lump sum bid amount for a turnkey operation for demolition work, to include fees for all labor, materials, permits, licenses, supervision, equipment, debris removal/disposal, dumping/tipping fees, and final site leveling/grading and grass seeding, as required. The vendor then offering the lowest bid price shall be awarded the specific project, with funds allocated from the various sources, subject to budgetary approval at the time of need. Section 3. Further authorizing, in accordance with the RFQ, the ability to add qualified firms or individuals to the contract when deemed in the City's best interests without any further Commission authorization. Section 4. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
