Background Information:
The Administration has a established a Code Compliance Program which includes Code
Enforcement Inspections, Commercial Code Compliance Program and Single Family Rehabilitation
Program in selected low and moderate neighborhoods to provide a coordinated effort to revitalize the
neighborhoods.
Pursuant to Resolution No. 11-0486, adopted December 8, 2011, the Miami City Commission
approved the allocation of $670,000 to the Economic Development Reserve account subject to the
provision of additional information about the Code Enforcement program to Commissioners.
The Code Enforcement Department has provided the required information to all commissioners.
The Administration recommends the transfer of CDBG funds, as specified in Exhibit "A", attached
and incorporated, in the amount of $670,000 from the Economic Development Reserve account and
allocating said funds to the City of Miami Department of Code Enforcement to conduct code
enforcement activities in eligible target areas.
