A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK
GRANT FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $670,000, FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT RESERVE
ACCOUNT TO THE CITY OF MIAMI DEPARTMENT OF CODE ENFORCEMENT,
AS SPECIFIED IN EXHIBIT "A", ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, TO
CONDUCT CODE ENFORCEMENT ACTIVITIES IN THE ELIGIBLE TARGET
AREAS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY
DOCUMENTS FOR SAID PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, the City Administration has a established a Code Compliance Program which includes
Code Enforcement Inspections, a Commercial Code Compliance Program and a Single Family
Rehabilitation Program in selected Low to Moderate Income areas to provide a coordinated effort to
revitalize those areas; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 11-0486, adopted December 8, 2011, the Miami City
Commission approved the allocation of Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") funds, in the
amount of $670,000 to the Department of Community Development Economic Development Reserve
account, subject to providing additional information regarding the City of Miami Department of Code
Enforcement program to the City Commissioners; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Department of Code Enforcement has provided the required
information to the City Commissioners, as requested; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends the transfer of CDBG funds, in the amount of
$670,000 from the Department of Community Development Economic Development Reserve account
to the City of Miami Department of Code Enforcement, as specified in Exhibit "A", attached and
incorporated, to conduct code enforcement activities in the eligible target areas:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and
incorporated as fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The transfer of CDBG funds, in the amount of $670,000, from the Department of
Community Development Economic Development Reserve Account to the City of Miami Department of
Code Enforcement, as specified in Exhibit "A", attached and=incorporatedyto-conduct>code
enforcement activities in the eligible target areas, is authorized.
-Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1 } to execute at necessary documents for said

purpose.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{1}

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
