Thompson DATE: January 25, 2012 FILE: City Clerk SUBJECT: Request to Publish Notice/Extend Agreement for Pre -Arranged Transportation Services FROM: Albert Sosa, P.E., Director REFERENCES: Capital Improvements Progr NCLOSURES: Notice of Public Hearing Please make arrangements to publish the attached Notice of Public Hearing regarding the ratification, approval, and confirmation of the City Manager's Findings to waive competitive bidding procedures, approving a grant agreement extension with Action Community Center, Inc. due to resolution of an existing bid protest. This extension will be for a total of two (2) months, extending the contract end date from February 29, 2012 until April 30, 2012, or until a notice to proceed is issued to the selected proposer. A 15 day notice is sufficient and we would like the item to be heard on February 23, 2012. The date and time of the public hearing will be 23 at 9 , ' ' rn i Gallasteg Agenda Coordinator NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING regarding RATIFICATION, APPROVAL, AND CONFIRMATION OF CITY MANAGER'S FINDINGS FOR WAIVER OF COMPETITIVE SEALED BIDDING PROCEDURES TO APPROVE A GRANT EXTENSION WITH ACTION COMMUNITY CENTER INC., FOR PRE -ARRANGED TRANSPORTATION SERVICES City Hall — 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, Florida The Miami City Commission will hold a Public Hearing on February 23, 2012 beginning at 9:00 a.m. to consider whether it is in the public's best interest that the City Commission ratify, approve and confirm the Findings of the City Manager justifying the waiver of competitive sealed bidding procedures, increasing the Grant Agreement with Action Community Center, Inc. by $53,334, for pre -arranged transportation services for low to moderate income elderly and/or disabled Miami residents; further extending the Agreement by a two (2) month period from February 29, 2012 to April 30, 2012. The extension is required in order to continue services during the transitional period. The Public Hearing will be held in conjunction with the regularly scheduled City Commission meeting of February 23, 2012 at: MIAMI CITY HALL 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, Florida All interested persons may appear at the meeting and may be heard with respect to the proposed issue. Should any person desire to appeal any decision of the City Commission with respect to any matter considered at this hearing, that person shall ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, including all testimony and evidence upon which any appeal may be based (F.S.286.0105).
