Subject: Resolution authorizing an a> reementwith The School Board of Miami -Dade County, Choices
et al, Inc., and Clerk of the Court for the Eleventh (11a') Judicial Court, for services associated with the
truancy reduction program at various elementary, middle. and high schools within the City:. for the Safe
and Supportive Communities: Service Partnership and Youth Violence Prevention Program.
Purpose of Item:
A Resolution authorizing the City Manager to negotiate and execute after consultation with the City
Attorney, Service Authorization Letters, Professional Service Agreements ("Agreements"), Interlocal
Agreements, and amendments, extensions, and modifications in compliance with the related form of
The Children's Trust contract, with: Choices et al, Inc. for an .amount not to exceed $7,920.00 in
accordance to City procurement codes; The School Board of Miami -Dade County for an amount not
to exceed $522,861.42 and Clerk of Courts for the Eleventh Judicial Court in an amount not to exceed
$3,164.25 in accordance with Chapter 163.01, Florida Statutes, each for a period commencing
November 1, 2011 through July 31, 2012, with the options to renew for up to two (2) additional
similar periods at the same not to exceed amounts, under the same terms and conditions.

Background Information:
Pursuant to Resolution,R-'14-0517,.adopted •ea December .15, 2011, the City Commission has
accepted a reimbursement grant from The Children's Trust in an amount not to exceed $634,007 for
"The Children's Trust Grant for Education Initiatives 2011-2012" special revenue account to fund the
Truancy Prevention Program for the period from November 1, 2011 through July 31, 2012 and for
services to be provided at various elementary, middle, and high schools within the City.
The Department of Grants Administration, Education Initiatives recommends that the City of Miami
enter into agreements with The School Board of Miami -Dade County, Choices et al, Inc., and the
Clerk of the Court for the Eleventh (1 1t) Judicial Court, in accordance with City procurement codes
and Florida Statutes to provide services for the City's "Truancy Reduction" program as part grant The
Children's Trust grant.
