Citywide Johnny Martinez, City Manager, on behalf of the City of Miami 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 (305) 250-5400 This will modify requirements for public and commercial storage facilities in T5, T6, and District (D) Zones by providing additional flexibility to such use and remove distance separation requirements between such facilities. Approval. Continued on October 5, 2011. Continued on October 19, 2011 due to no quorum. Continued on November 2, 2011. Continued on November 16, 2011 due to no quorum. Made four separate motions on December 14, 2011 as follows: 1) Denial of the change to the square footage limitation, which failed by a vote of 4-3 {this would have resulted in public storage facilities having a maximum area of 55,000 square feet}; 2) Approval of the proposed change for the parking requirements, which failed by a vote of 6-1 {this would have resulted in parking for public storage facilities being calculated as 1 parking space for every 10,00 square feet with a minimum of 8 parking spaces}; 3) To reinstate the spacing requirement (not strike it), which failed by a vote of 3-4 {this would have resulted in a distance separation requirement of 2,500 feet between public storage facilities within T5 or T6}; 4) Denial of the change to the time of operation as stated on the legislation by a vote of 7-0 {recommended hours of operation shall be limited from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm}.
