A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
ADDING THE NORTH BROWARD HOSPITAL DISTRICT, D/B/A BROWARD
HEALTH, AS A PARTICIPATING AGENCY IN THE MIAMI URBAN AREA SECURITY
INITIATIVE ("UASI") GRANT FISCAL YEAR 2008, PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION
NO. 09-0413, ADOPTED SEPTEMBER 10, 2009, FOR THE PURPOSE OF
REGIONAL TRAINING PURSUANT TO UASI GUIDELINES; AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT, IN
SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, SETTING FORTH THE PARTIES'
RESPONSIBILITIES IN CONNECTION WITH THE DEVELOPMENT AND
SUPPORT OF THE FISCAL YEAR 2008 UASI PROJECT ADMINISTERED BY THE
CITY OF MIAMI DEPARTMENT OF FIRE -RESCUE, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $25,495; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM PTAEO NUMBER
P-18-180018-T-08.05.03-A-1660-E-PROFESSIONAL SERVICES-O-181000.
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Homeland Security, is authorized by the Emergency
Wartime Supplemental Appropriations Act 2003, to provide funds to states for subsequent distribution
to selected urban areas to address the unique equipment, training, planning, exercise and operational
needs for large urban areas, and to assist them in building an enhanced and sustainable capacity to
prevent, respond to, and recover from threats or acts of terrorism; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the Urban Area Security Initiative ("UASI") Grant Program Fiscal
Year 2008, the Memorandum of Agreement ("MOA") with North Broward Hospital District, d/b/a
Broward Health, will provide the necessary guidelines and will serve for the purpose of regional
training; and
WHEREAS, funds, in an amount not to exceed $25,495, will be allocated from PTAEO Number
P-18-180018-T-08.05.03-A-1660-E-Professional Services-O-181000 upon acceptance and approval of
the City Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The North Broward Hospital District, d/b/a Broward Health, is added as a participating
agency in the Miami UASI Grant Program Fiscal Year 2008 established pursuant to Resolution No. 09-
0413, adopted September 10, 2009, for the purpose of regional training pursuant to UASI guidelines.
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute a MOA, in substantially the attached
form, setting forth the parties' responsibilities in connection with the development and support of the
Fiscal Year 2008 UASI Project, to be administered by the City of Miami Department of Fire -Rescue,

with funds allocated from PTAEO Number P-18-180018-T-08.05.03-A-1660-E-Professional
Services-O-181000, in an amount not to exceed, $25,495.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature
of the Mayor. {2}

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall
become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
