I /SECTIONS 10-4 AND 10-5 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS
AMENDED, ENTITLED "BUILDINGS/IN GENERAL", IN ORDER TO CHANGE THE
SCHEDULE OF FEES, AND WAIVED FEES RELATED TO THE PROCESSING AND
ISSUANCE OF BUILDING PERMITS; CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
Background. Information:
The changes reflected in the residential portion of the fees are to bring them into the same
form as the commercial fee charges. Fees will not be increasingfor residential but be calculated on a
percentage basis in order to make the process less cumbersome for our residents. The previous
percentages have been adjusted to reflect with more exactitude the total cost of construction. The
ordinance was adopted on first reading November 17, 2011 and as of that reading the changes are the
following: For ail residential properties, any trade or master building permit will be charged 0.50%
rather than 0.30% of the estimated construction cost (including labor and materials) for new
construction or additions, and 0.50% instead of 1.60% of the estimated construction cost for all -
remodeling permits as was in the first reading.
