Florida. Purpose of Item: A Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT"), for the installation of decorative pedestrian crosswalks along S.R. 5/Brickell Avenue from south of Southeast 25th Road to Southeast 5t Street, Miami, Florida. Background Information: The FDOT is currently reconstructing Brickell Avenue from south of Southeast 25th Road to Southeast 5th Street and has agreed to install new decorative pedestrian crosswalks. Resolution R-09- 0534, adopted by the City Commission on December 10, 2009, authorized the execution of an agreement for funding and maintenance for the crosswalks. Subsequently, new crosswalk locations have been added at the request of the City and Downtown Development Authority, and it has become necessary to replace the 2009 Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement with the attached Agreement. Funding agreements currently in place remain unchanged. $11,200 per year will be required starting on the sixth year for mandatory friction testing of the crosswalks. A contingency for replacement at a cost of $106 per square yard will need to be budgeted by FY 2018. Budget Impact Analysis NO Is this item related to revenue? YES Is this item an expenditure?
