Background Information: The City of Miami is seeking immediate relief from the Florida Legislature and requests the Legislature responsibly address its pension and other personnel issues locally and in a manner that best serves its taxpayers, brings about reasonableness in public service pension benefits, balances financial expectations between taxpayer burden and public service value, and protects pensions for current and future generations of police and firefighters.
