HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutionCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 11-00804 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION WAIVING THE EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS BY A FOUR -FIFTHS AFFIRMATIVE VOTE, AS IT RELATES TO VIVIAN WALTERS JR. AS A MEMBER OF THE COMMUNITY TECHNOLOGY ADVISORY BOARD. WHEREAS, in accordance with Division 2, Section 2-884 (e) of the City of Miami Code, an employee of Miami -Dade County, Florida, or any municipality therein other than a city employee, shall not serve on or be appointed to any board of the city, unless the city commission waives this restriction by a four -fifths affirmative vote of its membership and the employee is a resident of the city; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution R-11-0248, adopted June 9, 2011, the Commissioner Richard Dunn II appointed Vivian Walters Jr. to the Community Technology Advisory Board; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The Miami City Commission hereby waives the employment requirements by a four -fifths affirmative vote, as it relates to the membership of Vivian Walters Jr. as a member of the Community Technology Advisory Board. Footnotes: Board appointments are administrative acts which do not require the Mayor's signature nor the City Attorney's review and approval.
