Subject: Invitation for Bid (IFB) No. 261241 Removal and Installation of Mobile Digital Computers
Purpose of Item:
The nature of this item is to establish a term contract for the provision of Removal and Installation of
Mobile Digital Computers, with Computer Based Associates, Inc., for an initial contract period of two
(2) years with options to renew for three (3) additional one (1) year periods, for the Department of
Police. Allocating funds from the various sources of funds from the user departments, subject to
availability of funds and budgetary approval at time of need.
Background Information:
The Department of Police has a need to procure services for the Removal and Installation of Mobile
Digital Computers from old, out of service police vehicles and installation of the same into new police
vehicles, on an as needed contractual basis. With this purpose, on May 9, 2011, the Purchasing
Department issued an Invitation for Bid (IFB No. 261241). As required by the Procurement Code, the
IFB was advertised and issued online. Bids were due and two (2) bids were received on May 13,
2011. The Department of Purchasing is recommending award to, Computer Based Associates, Inc.,
the only responsive and responsible bidder, per bid specifications. The estimated annual amount is
S70,000.00.
