MICGOYA Chic; Procurement Officer City \tanager ADDENDUM NO. 1 IFB No. 220227 Invitation For Bid (IFB) for Toughbooks and Mounting Hardware TO: ALL PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS: The following changes, additions, clarifications, and deletions amend the Bid Documents of the above captioned IFB, and shall become an integral part of the Contract Documents. The remaining provisions are now in effect and remain unchanged. Please note the contents herein and reflect same on the documents you have on hand. The bid closing date and time has been changed to: Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 2 p.m. 01. Prospective Bidder does not see a reference in the special conditions for a bid deposit. Could the City verify that one is not required? Al. There is no bid deposit required for this invitation for bid. Q2. What is the bid bond percentage requirement for the subject IFB? Is it 5%, 10% or 100% bid bond requirement? A2. There is no bid bond requirement for this invitation for bid. Q3. The Panasonic Toughbook CF30 is discontinued and has been replaced with the CF-31 which does have different specifications and some significant changes from the Toughbook Model CF-30. Would the City consider an alternative? A3. The language in Line Item 1.1, Description: Toughbook, as or approved equal to, Panasonic CF-30 Mobile Laptop (See Section 3.0 Specifications for further information), means that pursuant to 1.14. BRAND NAMES - if and wherever in the specifications brand names, makes, models, names of any manufacturers, trade names, or bidder/proposer catalog numbers are specified, it is for the purpose of establishing the type, function, minimum standard of design, efficiency, grade or quality of goods only. When the City does not wish to rule out other competitors' brands or makes, the phrase "OR EQUAL" is added. When bidding/proposing an approved equal, Bidders/Proposers will submit, with their response, complete sets of necessary data (factory information sheets, specifications, brochures, etc.) in order for the City to evaluate and determine the equality of the item(s) bid/proposed. The City shall be the sole judge of equality and its decision shall be final. Unless otherwise specified, evidence in the form of samples may be requested if the proposed brand is other than specified by the City. Such samples are to be furnished after formal solicitation opening/closing only upon request of the City. If samples should be requested, such samples must be received by the City no later than seven (7) calendar days after a formal request is made. Therefore, bidders may bid other models such as the CF31, but Bidders are reminded that the City is the sole judge on whether or not it is indeed an "EQUAL".
