NOTICE OF VACANCIES ON THE
{ , OAB/OVERTOWN'COMMUNITY OVERSIGHTBOARD'
The City .of Miami is seeking, to f Il regular and youth .member
vacancies on the OAB/Overtown Community Oversight Board.
Specific. qualifications and eligibility requirements are set -forth
in Ordinance 12858 amending Article Xl of Chapter 2 of the City
Code. Applicants shall be persons of knowledge, experience,
-rriature judgment and background, having ability and'desire
,to.•act in the public interest inorder to make informed' and
`equitable 'decisions concerning the Overtown Area. -
Members mist be 18, years of age. or older, and be a resident
of theOvertown Area; or own property or operate a business
in the Overtowh, Area; on be, an. employee or board member
of 'a community development corporation ,of a community
based organization located in, and providing services to the
Overtown Area; or operate or be an employee of a business,
in the Overtown. Area. Youth members shall be' more-than14
and less than 19 years of age, reside in the'Overtown Area and
attend, an accredited educational .institution in ,the Overtown'
Area.
The City Commission will consider filling existing vacancies at
its meeting of October 8; 2009. The list of interested individuals
:will be available for public review at the Office of the City Clerk on .
Friday, September 25, 2009 following the scheduled deadline
for of said applications on , • Thursday,
September '24, '2009 at: 4 PM. Application forms will be
available from the Offce of the City Clerk and the'City Clerk's'

La Ciudad de Miami busca Ilenar las vacantes de miem-
bros regulares y jovenes en la Junta Supervisora de Ia
Comunidad de OAB/Overtown. Las calificaciones especi-
ficas y los requisitos de eligibilidad ester) consignados en
la Ordenanza 12858 que enmienda el Articulo XI del Ca-
pitulo 2 del Codigo de la Ciudad. Los aspirantes deberan
ser personas con conocimientos, experiencia, madurez de
juicio y conocimientos,' poseyendo Ia habilidad y el deseo
de actuar en el mejor interes del publico eon el fin de tomer
decisiones informadas y equitativas en la relacion con el
Area de Overtown.
Los miembros deberan ser de 18 anos o mas de edad
y ser residentes del Area de Overtown; o terier propieda-
des u operar un negocio en el Area de Overtown; o ser
un empleado o miembro de la junta de una corporacion
de desarrollo comunitario de una organizacion basada en
Ia comunidad Iocalizada en y proporcionando servicios 'al
" Area de Overtown; u operar o ser empleado de un negocio
en el Area de Overtown. Los miembros jbvenes deberan.
ser mayores de 14 y menores de 19, residir en el Area de
Overtown y asistir a una institucion educative acreditada
del Area de Overtown.
La Junta de Comisionados considera Ilenar las vacantes
existentes en su reunion del 8 de octubre del 2009. La
relacion de individuos interesados estara disponible pars
conocimiento del publico en Ia Oficina de Ia Secretaria Mu-
nicipal el viernes 25 de septiembre del 2009 a continua -
don del final del- termino serialado para recibir solicitudes
el jueves 24 de septiembre del 2009, a las 4 p.m. Los
