HomeMy WebLinkAboutPrevious LegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-08-0688 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 08-01387 Final Action Date:12/11/2008 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 03-1245, ADOPTED DECEMBER 18, 2003, AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF FUTURE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM INCOME FUNDS TO INCLUDE HOUSING AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES AS DEEMED NECESSARY BY THE CITY MANAGER. WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 03-1245, adopted December 18, 2003, the City Commission approved the allocation of future Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") Program Income funds to the Single Family programs; and WHEREAS, due to the current glut of housing in the City of Miami as well as the need for economic development activities in a recessionary environment, the Administration is recommending amending said resolution authorizing the allocation of future program income funds to include Housing and Economic Development activities as deemed necessary by the City Manager; and WHEREAS, allocation of Program Income for any Housing and Economic Development activities must be approved by the Housing and Commercial Loan Committee; and WHEREAS, the allocation of all Economic Development activities must be ratified by the City Commission; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. Resolution No. 03-1245, adopted December 18, 2003, is amended to authorize the allocation of future CDBG Program Income funds to include Housing and Economic Development activities as deemed necessary by the City Manager. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{1} City of Miami Page 1 of 2 Printed On: 11/19/2009 File Number.' 08-01387 Enactment Number: R-08-0688 Footnotes: {1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
