The following boards have Commissioners serving as members whose terms expire May 31, 2009:
• Bayfront Park Management Trust: Commissioner Sarnoff serves as Chairperson.
• Commercial Solid Waste Management Advisory Committee: Vice Chair Spence -Jones
serves as Chairperson.
• Miami -Dade County League of Cities: Commissioner Regalado serves as a member.
• Downtown Development Authority: Chair Sanchez serves as Chairperson.
• Florida League of Cities: Commissioner Sarnoff serves as a member.
• Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau: Commissioner Sarnoff serves as the City
representative.
• Mayor's International Council: Commissioner Gonzalez serves as Vice Chairperson.
• Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO): Commissioner Sarnoff serves as the City
representative.
• Miami River Commission: Chair Sanchez serves as a member.
• Miami Sports and Exhibition Authority: Commissioner Regalado serves as Vice
Chairperson.
• Midtown Community Redevelopment Agency: Commissioner Sarnoff serves as
Chairperson and Commissioner Gonzalez serves as Vice Chairperson. Chair Sanchez, Vice
Chair Spence -Jones, and Commissioner Regalado serve as members.
• Southeast Overtown/Park West/Omni Community Redevelopment Agency: Vice Chair
Spence -Jones serves as Chairperson and Commissioner Sarnoff serves as Vice Chairperson.
Chair Sanchez, Commissioner Gonzalez, and Commissioner Regalado serve as members.
• Tourism Development Council (TDC): Vice Chair Spence -Jones serves as a member.
Please refer to the attached which reflects the history of Commissioners serving on boards. It
additionally includes certain boards wherein certain elected officials serve in an ex-officio capacity
and are therefore not considered for replacement.
Pursuant to City Code Section 2-35, the Mayor and each Commissioner shall be considered for
appointment to an authority, board or committee before the Mayor or any one Commissioner shall
have served a consecutive term; however, there shall be no prohibition against the Mayor or any
Commissioner from being reappointed to serve consecutive terms.
By copy of this memorandum to the Agenda Office, we are requesting that this issue be scheduled
for Commission consideration on the June 11, 2009 Commission meeting
