The nature of this item is to purchase Two (2) Chip Dump Trucks for the Public Works Department,
from Rechtien International Trucks, Inc. Funds are allocated from Account Code CIP Project No.
352296, B-30156.
Background Information:
The City of Miami Public Works Department has a need to procure Two (2) Chip Dump Trucks to
replace two (2) existing Chip Dump Trucks. On May 13, 2009, the Purchasing Department issued an
Invitation for Bid (IFB No. 123083). As required by the Procurement Code, the IFB was advertised
and issued online. On June 3, 2009, at the bid opening, four (4) bids were submitted and have been
tabulated. The Purchasing Department is recommending award to Rechtien International Trucks, Inc.,
the lowest responsive and responsible bidder per bid specifications. The total contract amount is
$134,956.00.
