Discussion about offshore factories and specifically discussion about the solar power industry
which is gaining sales and manufacturing offshore. Applied Materials, a California
based company with $10 bil in sales, has opened 14 solar panel factories worldwide in the past
two years. Not one is in the United States. Why not?
What percentage of South Florida's economy is based on tourism and what percentage is
based on manufacturing? Is it financially feasible to attract manufacturing?
What can be done to encourage the use of solar panels in Florida?
A Resolution might result.
