A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE
ENGAGEMENT OF LITTLER, MENDELSON, P.C., FOR THE REPRESENTATION
OF THE DEPARTMENT OF OFF-STREET PARKING ("DOSP") OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI AS REQUIRED BY SECTION 23(G) OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, IN CONNECTION WITH NEGOTIATING A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING
AGREEMENT BETWEEN DOSP AND I.A.T.S.E. LOCAL 500, WITH ATTORNEY'S
FEES TO BE PAID BY DOSP.
WHEREAS, Section 23(g) of the Charter of the City of Miami, Florida ("City Charter"), requires
that the appointment of special counsel for the Department of Off -Street Parking ("DOSP") be
approved by the City Commission; and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney, the Executive Director of DOSP and the DOSP Board have
deemed it appropriate to engage Littler, Mendelson, P.C. as special counsel for DOSP for purposes
of negotiating a collective bargaining agreement between DOSP and I.A.T.S.E. Local 500;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The engagement of Littler, Mendelson, P.C., for the representation of DOSP, as
required by Section 23(g) of the City Charter, in connection with negotiating a collective bargaining
agreement between DOSP and I.A.T.S.E. Local 500, is authorized, with attorney's fees to be paid by
DOSP.
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature
of the Mayor.{1}
Footnotes:
{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
