Tourists continue to come
There's good news from Miami's
tourism industry: Miami ranked No.
1 in the nation for hotel -room occu-
pancy during the first quarter Of
2008, according to a report released
last week of the top 25 hotel mar-
kets. The report also shows that
Greater Miami was the only destina-
tion in the country during that

top priority.. During the. first quarter
of this year, jobs in the tourism
industry grew to more than 107,90O
in Miami -Dade County. Miami's No.
1 industry remains solid and contin-
ues to be a top economic engine. It
generated more than $17 billion in
economic impact in 2007.
The Greater Miami Convention
& Visitors Bureau is working hard
to grow Miami's tourism business,
even during these uncertain times.
