City of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 07-01065 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO PREPARE AN AMENDMENT TO THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF MIAMI FOR CONSIDERATION AT AN ELECTION TO BE HELD ON JANUARY 29, 2008, PROPOSING UPON THE APPROVAL OF THE ELECTORATE, TO CHANGE THE TERM OF THE OFFICE OF THE AUDITOR GENERAL FROM FOUR YEARS TO TWO YEARS. BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Attorney is directed to prepare and bring back to the City Commission an amendment to the City Charter for consideration at an election to be held on January 29, 2008, proposing upon the approval of the electorate, to change the term of the Office of the Independent Auditor General from four years to two years. Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{1} APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS: JOG RNANDEZ CI •RNEY Footnotes: {1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
