Subject: Discussion relating to the property located at 46 West Flagler Street, formerly know as Paul
Walker Park.
Purpose of Item:
Provides evaluation of alternatives to include the development a pocket park at the same location,
development of a pocket park at another downtown location, sale of property and use of proceeds to
fund purchase of available parklands within the City limits.
Background Information:
A directive was made by Commissioner Sarnoff to Adminstration at the Janaury 11, 2007,
Commission meeting to conduct a feasibility study to determine what would be required of the City to
revert the property located at 46 West Flagler Street back into a park, and to report back to the
Commission with its recommendations at its meeting of February 8th, 2007; furthering directing staff
to meet with each Commissioner, giving them potential solutions for reverting said property into a
park.
