Please find below the Annual Report required by City Code Sec, 2-890-892 concerning the City
of Miami Health Facilities Authority Board.
Question:
1. Whether the board is serving the purpose for which it was created.
Response:
The City of Miami Health Facilities Authority have been assisting health facilities, such
as Mercy Hospital, Miami Jewish Home and Hospital for the Aged in the acquisition,
construction, financing and refinancing of hospital projects.
Question:
2. Whether the board is serving current community needs.
Response:
Yes,
3. A list of the board's major accomplishments.
Response:
Issued bonds, Series 2005 not to exceed $25,800,000 for Miami Jewish Home and
Hospital for the aged. The proceeds was used to refinance Series 1992 and 1996
bond issues.

4. Whether there is any other board, either public or private, which could better serve the
function of the. board?
Response;
This board was created by Chapter 74-323, Laws of Florida, Acts of 1974, Chapter 154,
Florida Statutes, Part III specifically to assist health facilities to issue Tax Exempt Bonds
in order to reduce interest cost.
Question:
5. Whether the ordinance, creating the board should be amended to better enable the board
to serve the purpose for which it was created.
Response:
No. There is no recommendation by the board to amend this Ordinance at this Time.
Question:
6. Whether the board's membership requirements be modified.
Response:
Not at this time.
7. The cost, both direct and indirect, of maintaining the board.
Response:
The board meets for an hour to two hours only when the need arises to assist on the
acquisition, construction, financing and refinancing of hospital projects at no cost to the
City of Miami or the board.
