HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutionCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 06-00144 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DECLARE SURPLUS THE CITY -OWNED REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1240 NORTHWEST 61 STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA ("PROPERTY"); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY THE PROPERTY, WITH PARCEL REVERTER PROVISIONS, TO PROGRESSIVE VISION COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, INC., A FLORIDA NOT -FOR -PROFIT CORPORATION, TO PROVIDE AFFORDABLE HOUSING FOR THE RESIDENTS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI WHOSE INCOME DOES NOT EXCEED 80% OF THE MEDIAN INCOME; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENT(S), FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") owned property located at 1240 Northwest 61 Street, Miami, Florida ("Property"), will be subject to a restrictive covenant for an affordability period of 20 years; and WHEREAS, said Property must meet yearly Housing Quality Standards; and WHEREAS, the City residents cannot have an income higher than 80% of the median income; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Manager is authorized {1} to declare the City -owned Property, as surplus. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized {1} to convey the Property with parcel reverter provisions, to Progressive Vision Community Development Corporation, Inc., a Florida not -for -profit corporation, to provide affordable housing for the residents of the City whose income does not exceed 80% of the median income. Section 3. The City Manager is further authorized{1} to execute all the necessary document(s), for said purpose. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor. {2} APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS: JORGE L. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
