A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF 31 ST YEAR HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES FOR
PERSONS WITH AIDS FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $30,000, FROM MOVERS,
INC.; ALLOCATING SAID FUNDS TO THE CITY OF MIAMI DEPARTMENT OF
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, FOR THE LONG TERM RENTAL ASSISTANCE
PROGRAM, AS SPECIFIED IN "ATTACHMENT A," ATTACHED AND
INCORPORATED.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 05-0381, adopted June 9, 2005, the City Commission
allocated the amount of $30,000 to Movers, Inc., to provide housing specialist services for the Long
Term Rental Assistance ("LTRA") program; and
WHEREAS, the need to provide LTRA for individuals and families diagnosed with Acquired
Immune Deficiency Syndrome ("AIDS") continues to grow in Miami -Dade County; and
WHEREAS, Movers, Inc., lacks the capability to provide housing specialist services and has an
outstanding debt with the Department of Community Development ("Department"), and the
Administration is recommending the transfer of funds to the Department;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and
incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The transfer of 31 st Year Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS funds, in the
amount of $30,000, from Movers, Inc., and the allocation of said funds to the Department, for the
LTRA Program as specified in "Attachment A," attached and incorporated, is authorized.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{1}

{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
