Purpose of Item: Presentation of the "City of Miami Initial Streetcar Corridor Feasibility Study, Final Report, April 2005" . The presentation will be provided by the City's consultant team, HDR Engineering, Inc. Subsequent to the presentation, the City of Miami Commission will consider a resolution for the adoption of the Study and the authorization of the City Manager to begin initial implementation of the Study recommentations. Background Information: The Department of CIP and Transportation, through the Office of the City Manager, directed and managed the Study. The Study defines the Miami Streetcar Project as a modern electric streetcar service, on rail and at grade, within the existing roadway between Downtown Miami and the Miami Design District/Buena Vista East Historic District. The Study was funded by the City's share of the People's Transportation Plan half -cent surtax of which twenty -percent of the annual collections to the City must be encumbered for transit purposes.
