Re: Request for FAA Environmental Review
Dear Mr. Ruggeri:
It is with great pleasure that 1 forward to you three (3) copies of the draft -final Environmental
Assessment (EA) entitled Operational Noise Mitigation Procedure Environmental Assessment for
Miami International Airport (M1A) dated January 2005, see attached.
The purpose of this EA is to environmentally evaluate the possibility of changing operational
procedures at MIA. The Miami -Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) in conjunction with the
aviation/acoustical-consulting firms of Environmental Science Associates (ESA), and Hands, Millar,
Miller and Ranson (IIMMH), the local FAA Control Tower Manager and local citizens appointed by
the County Manager have worked together and have developed these procedures. These procedures
are desiied to reduce aircraft noise impacts in residential areas surrounding MIA to improve the
quality of life for thousands of residents of lvliami-Dade County.
