On January 22, 2004, the City Commission passed Resolution 04-0051, which urged the
Supervisor of Elections of Miami -Dade County to allow the City of Miami two additional early
voting sites for the March 9, 2004 Presidential Preference Primary. Attached please find the
response from Constance Kaplan, Supervisor of Elections, related to said request along with
copies of the documents sent to her.

2004 regarding Early Voting in the City of Miar i. Unfortunately, as I indicated to you
previously, it is not possible for me to approve this request to add two (2) additional early
voting sites for the March 9th Presidential Preference Primary,

A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION URGING THE
SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY TO ALLOW THE
CITY OF MIAMI TWO ADDITIONAL EARLY VOTING SITES FOR THE MARCH
9, 2004 PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY; TO EXPEDITE SAID SITES TO BE:
CARRIE P. MEEK CENTER AT CHARLES HADLEY PARK LOCATED AT 1300
NORTHWEST 50TH STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA, AND CITY HALL LOCATED
AT 3500 PAN AMERICAN DRIVE, MIAMI, FLORIDA; ALLOCATING FUNDS
FROM CITY CLERK'S OFFICE BUDGET PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
ACCOUNT CODE NO. 001000.220101.6340.270.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Supervisor of Elections of Miami -Dade County is urged to allow the City of
Miami two additional early voting sites for the March 9, 2004 Presidential Primary, to expedite said
sites to be: Carrie P. Meek Center at Charles Hadley Park located at 1300 Northwest 50th Street,
Miami, Florida and City Hall at 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida, with funds allocated from
the City Clerk's Office Budget Professional Services Account Code No. 001000.220,1 Q1.6340.270.
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature
of the Mayor.{1}
Footnotes:
{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
