HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutionCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 15-01564 Final Action Date: 12/10/2015 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF A REQUEST TO QUALIFY FOR TWO (2) WEEKS TO ADD ADDITIONAL QUALIFIED PROPOSERS TO THE POOL OF COMMERCIAL SOLID WASTE HAULERS, PURSUANT TO SECTION 22-49 OF THE CITY CODE, AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS NO. 495344, TO PROVIDE COMMERCIAL SOLID WASTE HAULING SERVICES WITHIN THE CITY OF MIAMI; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE NON-EXCLUSIVE COMMERCIAL SOLID WASTE FRANCHISE AGREEMENTS, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, WITH THE ADDITIONAL QUALIFIED PROPOSERS FOR SAID SERVICES, FOR AN INITIAL CONTRACT PERIOD OF FIVE (5) YEARS WITH OPTIONS TO RENEW FOR THREE (3) ADDITIONAL ONE (1) YEAR PERIODS. WHEREAS, the eleven (11) proposals for Commercial Solid Waste Hauling Services ("Services"), received June 8, 2015, pursuant to Request for Qualifications ("RFQ") No. 495344, have been deemed qualified by the City of Miami ("City"); and WHEREAS, on November 19, 2015, the City Commission approved the City Manager's request to execute non-exclusive commercial solid waste franchise agreements ("Agreements") with the eleven (11) qualified proposers; and WHEREAS, the City anticipates a need for additional qualified vendors to provide Services within the City, and as such, wishes to add more qualified proposers to the pool of vendors via a Request To Qualify ("RTQ") process; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to issue a RTQ for two (2) weeks, to add additional qualified proposers to the vendor pool of commercial solid waste haulers, pursuant to Section 22-49 of the City Code, and in accordance with RFQ No. 495344, to provide Services within the City. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute Agreements, in substantially the attached form, with the additional qualified proposers, for an initial contract period of five (5) years with options to renew for three (3) additional one (1) year periods. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor. {2} Footnotes: City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File Id: 15-01564 (Version: 1) Printed On: 4/10/2018 File Number: 15-01564 {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposes the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} This Resolution shall become effective as specified herein unless vetoed by Mayor with ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
