A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, BYA FOUR -FIFTHS (4/STHS)
AFFIRMATIVE VOTE, PURSUANT TO SECTION 18-92 OF THE CODE OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, AFTER AN ADVERTISED PUBLIC
HEARING, RATIFYING, APPROVING AND CONFIRMING THE CITY MANAGER'S
FINDING OF A SOLE SOURCE; WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS FOR
COMPETITIVE SEALED BIDDING PROCEDURES AND APPROVING THE
PROCUREMENT OF THE DRIVECAM SYSTEMS AND RELATED SOFTWARE
LICENSE FOR THE SOLID WASTE DEPARTMENT, FROM LYTX, INC., FOR A FIVE
(5) YEAR TERM, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM ACCOUNT CODE NOS.
04001.213000.552000.0000.00000 AND 04001.213000.534000.0000.00000, WITH
FUTURE YEARS FUNDING SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS AND
BUDGETARY APPROVAL.
WHEREAS, the Solid Waste Department ("Department") has completed the one hundred eighty
(180) day free trial period of the DriveCam Systems installed in the one hundred forty-two (142)
Department fleet vehicles and twelve (12) Street Sweepers as authorized by Resolution R14-0436;
and
WHEREAS, the Department has an on -going need for the DriveCam Systems and related
Software for the monitoring and tracking of fleet vehicles and sweepers in a continued effort to
reduce injuries, collisions and fuel costs; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 18-92 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended
("City Code"), the Chief Procurement Officer has made a finding that Lytx, Inc. is the sole source
provider of said DriveCam Systems and related Software; and
WHEREAS, the finding of the Chief Procurement Officer has been approved and adopted as the
finding of the City Manager; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Chief Procurement Officer recommend that the
requirements for competitive sealed bidding procedures be waived and that the procurement of the
above goods, as specified, be approved;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. By a four -fifths (4/5ths) affirmative vote, pursuant to Section 18-92 of the City Code,

after an advertised public hearing, the City Manager's finding of a sole source, is ratified, approved
and confirmed, the requirements for competitive sealed bidding procedures are waived, and the
procurement of the DriveCam Systems and related Software Licenses for the Department, from Lytx,
Inc., the sole source provider of this service, is approved for five (5) years, with funds allocated from
the Department Account Code Nos. 04001.213000.552000.0000.00000, and
04001.213000.534000.0000.00000, with future years funding subject to the availability of funds and
budgetary approval.
Section 3 This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor. {1 }

Footnotes:
{1} This resolution shall become effective as specified herein unless vetoed by the Mayor within ten
(10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it
shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission or upon the
effective date stated herein, whichever is later.
