A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ACCEPT THE DONATION AND INSTALLATION OF TEN (10)
SCULPTURES FROM NINATORRES, AT AN ESTIMATED FAIR MARKET VALUE
OF $1,000,000.00, TO BE INSTALLED ALONG THE MIAMI RIVER AND THE
PUBLIC MIAMI RIVER GREENWAY/RIVERWALK; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM
ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY FOR THE ACCEPTANCE OF SAID
DONATION.
WHEREAS, Nina Torres, Founder and Director of the Annual Miami River Art Fair, has offered
to donate and install ten (10) sculptures, with an estimated fair market value of $100,000.00 each, for
a total donation amount of $1,000,000.00, along the Miami River, on sections of the public Miami
River Greenway/ Riverwalk; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami has agreed to maintain said sculptures upon completion of the
installation and the execution of the necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted
by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1} to accept the donation and installation of ten
(10) sculptures from Nina Torres, at an estimated fair market value of $1,000,000.00, to be installed
along the Miami River and the public Miami River Greenway/Riverwalk.
Section 3. The City Manager is further authorized{1} to execute the necessary documents, in
a form acceptable to the City Attorney, including a simple Bill of Sale for the donation of sculptures in
favor of the City of Miami, by Nina Torres, for the acceptance of said donation.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature
of the Mayor.{2}

{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall
become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
