At that time I had explained we were exploring the possibility of relocating two Postal facilities within your jurisdiction. I further explained it is our policy is to keep the Government Officials and the community updated on any plans for the local Post Office. And, for any relocation of our Retail services we are legally mandated to follow a specific process and obtain public input (39CFR 241.4). The first step in this process is to provide notification of the project to the Mayor or his designee. The next step would be to publicly discuss the process at a scheduled Public Meeting. If possible, I would like to discuss our process at the meeting scheduled for Thursday, June 26 @ 9:00 am. My presentation will focus on the process I must follow to relocate the Retail services at: Metro Finance 200 S. Biscayne Blvd., Ste. 600A Miami, FL 33131-9997 The specific steps in this process include: Brickell Postal Store 1101 Brickell Ave. Miami, FL 33131-9996 1. Notification of the project to the Mayor or his/her designee. 2. Notification of the project to the Mayor, elected officials and the community at a Public Meeting. 3. Following this Public Meeting there is a 15-day wait period to receive and evaluate comments received. 1 4. Formalize the decision by sending written notification to the Mayor. 5. 30-day appeal period. 6. During this appeal period we will evaluate the market for potential alternate quarters. 7. Hold a Site Selection with Postal Officials to evaluate all potential sites. 8. Send a letter to the Mayor outlining the contending vs. non -contending sites. 9. 30-day wait period. 10. A final letter will be sent to the Mayor indicating the selected site. I appreciate your assistance and look forward to hearing from you. Thank you.
