HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutionCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 13-01339 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AMENDING APPROPRIATIONS RELATING TO THE GENERAL FUND FOR FISCAL YEAR 2013-2014, PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION NO. 13-0393, ADOPTED SEPTEMBER 26, 2013, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2014. WHEREAS, the General Fund Budget for Fiscal Year 2013-2014 is $524,902,600.00, and the total Budget for all funds is $896,959,900.00; and WHEREAS, the major source of revenue for the General Fund is derived from the category identified as "Taxes" in the amount of $225,733,400.00; and WHEREAS, that budget is revised to include additional permit fee revenues related to the Museum Park Project in the amount $400,000.00; and WHEREAS, that budget is revised to include the allocation of $400,000.00 from the Transfers -Out line item to Capital Improvement Projects related to the Museum Park Project; and WHEREAS, this action requires the amendment of Section 4 and Section 5 of the Adopted Budget Resolution No. 13-0393, adopted September 26, 2013; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. Section 5 of said Adopted Budget is amended to read as follows: The above appropriations for the General Fund are made based on the following sources of revenues for the Fiscal Year ending September 30, 2014: GENERAL FUND REVENUES Property Taxes $ 225,733,400 Franchise Fees and Other Taxes 99,191,900 Interest 1,000,000 Fines and Forfeits 4,019,200 Intergovernmental Revenues 47,112,200 License and Permits 38,033,500 Other Revenues 11,018,100 Charges for Services 99,194,300 TOTAL GENERAL FUND $ 525,302,600 Section 4. This Resolution is a resolution of precedent and all other resolutions in conflict with it are held null and void insofar as they pertain to these appropriations; however, no provision City of Miami Page 2 of 3 File Id: 13-01339 (Version: 1) Printed On: 8/26/2024 File Number: 13-01339 contained in this Resolution shall be construed to violate the Anti -Deficiency Act, as set forth in Sections 18-500 through Sections 18-503 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended. The appropriations are the anticipated expenditure requirements for the City of Miami ("City"), but are not mandatory should efficient administration of City Departments and Boards or altered economic conditions indicate that a curtailment in certain expenditures is necessary or desirable for the general welfare of the City. Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor. {1} Footnotes: {1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
